What is in the library?
Speed Read Classics includes 25 classic novels, all of them in the public domain worldwide. Every book is free — there is no per-title purchase and nothing to unlock. The App runs on iPhone, iPad and Mac.
How does the reading work?
The App shows one word at a time in a fixed position, with the pivot letter highlighted so your eye has a consistent place to land. Because your eyes stay still instead of moving across a line, most readers can go faster than they can on a page.
How do I change the reading speed?
Use the speed control in the reader. Free reading goes up to 350 words per minute. A premium subscription raises the ceiling in steps — 600, 800, 1000 and 1200 words per minute. Your chosen speed is saved for future sessions.
Do I need an account?
No. There is no sign-in, no profile and no password. Your place in each book and your reading settings are stored on your device. Because nothing is synced to a server, progress does not carry across between your iPhone, iPad and Mac, and deleting the App clears it.
What does premium cost?
Premium is $4.99 per week or $19.99 per year, and the yearly plan starts with a 3-day free trial. Subscriptions are billed through your Apple ID and renew until cancelled. The 25 books are free with or without a subscription.
How do I manage or cancel my subscription?
Speed Read Classics subscriptions are managed through your Apple ID, and one subscription covers iPhone, iPad and Mac. To manage or cancel on iPhone or iPad:
- Open the Settings app
- Tap your name at the top, then tap Subscriptions
- Find Speed Read Classics in the list and tap it
- Choose Cancel Subscription or change your plan
On a Mac:
- Open the App Store app and click your name in the sidebar
- Click Account Settings, then Manage next to Subscriptions
- Find Speed Read Classics and click Edit
- Choose Cancel Subscription or change your plan
Cancellations take effect at the end of your current billing period. You will continue to have access until then. To avoid being charged for the yearly plan, cancel at least a day before the 3-day trial ends.
How do I restore my purchases?
If you reinstalled Speed Read Classics or switched devices, your subscription can be restored:
- Make sure you are signed in with the same Apple ID used for the original purchase
- Open the App — your subscription should be restored automatically
- If it does not restore, tap Restore Purchases on the subscription screen
How do I turn off analytics?
Open Settings in the App and press and hold the Version row for about a second and a half. A confirmation tells you whether analytics are now on or off, and the choice is remembered across launches. Repeating the gesture turns analytics back on. See the Privacy Policy for what analytics cover.
